Dust off your tea hats and binoculars and join the Phoebes for our first event of 2020: A Phoebes Afternoon Tea & Bird Walk, graciously hosted by the Turkel family. We’ll begin the morning with a casual bird walk through the Gardens of the Nuehring Property, once home to beloved Tropical Audubon friends and patrons Elane & Ron Nuehring. After birding the gardens in their honor, we’ll sit down for an afternoon tea, donning our best wide-brimmed hats.
Attendance is strictly limited to 25 participants. RSVP required.
WHAT: A morning bird walk and afternoon tea for female nature enthusiasts.
WHEN: Saturday, January 5, 2020 from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM
WHERE: We will meet promptly at 9:30 AM in the parking lot at Dante Fascell Park, 8700 SW 57th Ave, South Miami, FL 33143. We’ll do a loop around the park then bird our way to and through the Nuehring property (0.8-mile walk). Afterwards, we’ll have an Afternoon Tea at the neighboring Turkel family home.
WHAT TO BRING, BIRD WALK: Make sure to bring binoculars, good walking shoes, and water. If you don’t have binoculars, Leica Store Miami will be providing some on a first-come, first-served basis.
WHAT TO BRING, AFTERNOON TEA: Your best TEA HAT. For inspiration, check out this Pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.com/finab/vintage-tea-hats/. Light pastries and tea will be served by the Turkel family, but bringing a small dish or beverage to share is recommended. (Arrive early if you’d like to drop your hat and shared dish off at the house ahead of time.)
