Field trip leader Paddy Cunningham will lead a Phoebes Birding field trip at Evergreen Cemetery, a migrant trap and bird oasis in eastern Ft. Lauderdale due to its proximity to the coast. The numerous mature Live Oaks and Strangler Figs provide the food and necessary cover for a variety of songbirds, exotics and the raptors that feed on them. The open canopy allows for easier viewing of migrants and resident birds, so it is an excellent and consistent birding hot spot in Broward. It also has an adjacent rare coastal ridge cliff along a waterway for water birds and to peek for water thrushes and thrushes.
