Join the Phoebes for a 2-night, 3-day camping trip NOVEMBER 10-12, 2023 (Veterans Day Weekend) on No Name Key (NNK) a quiet, charming tropical island in the Lower Keys. A flat camping fee of $20 is required, pay ahead by Venmo or to be collected upon arrival. We will be camping on the grounds of a private home with access to bathrooms and kitchen.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10: Check in starts after 2 PM. Unload cars; set up your campsite. Phoebes Welcoming Committee will be available to help you!
Dinner at the famous NO NAME PUB
After dinner, weather permitting we will enjoy some stargazing and a campfire and S’mores.
SATURDAY MORNING NOVEMBER 11: Make your own breakfast at the campsite. Then we will carpool and depart NNK at 7 AM sharp and drive to KEY WEST TROPICAL FOREST & BOTANICAL GARDEN on Stock Island, a 45-minute drive. There’s a standard fee of $10; $8 for seniors which will be collected the evening before. A ranger-led tour of the garden has been scheduled especially for the Phoebes from 8-10AM.
LUNCH: Prepare a packed lunch to eat in the patio area at the botanical garden
SATURDAY AFTERNOON: After lunch carpool to FT. ZACHARY TAYLOR STATE PARK for birding. $6 entrance fee per car up to 8 passengers.
After visiting the park we’ll have dinner and a stroll through downtown KEY WEST
(NOTE: Daytrippers are welcome to sign up for the Saturday morning/afternoon walks at the KEY WEST TROPICAL FOREST & BOTANICAL GARDEN and FT. ZACHARY TAYLOR STATE PARK field trips. Click HERE to RSVP).
RETURN TO NO NAME KEY – Possible star gazing, small campfire and more S’mores; if weather permits
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12…Let’s share coffee, breakfast and memories of our fabulous Keys weekend together. Campsite breakdown, pack up, load cars and depart by 12 noon.
